Text to Family:
Finally have time to give an update.
Crosby is doing so well! His lungs sound good. The x-ray he had this
morning looked a bit hazy, but nothing big enough to require oxygen. If
he needs it during feeding, they can do a "blow by."
His jaundice levels are down and he was able to come off the lights this
morning.
He pulled his own feeding tube out last night at 10 and hasn't needed it
back in! He is required to eat 45 mL of milk every 3 hours. If he is
showing readiness signs, he can do this by breast or bottle. If not,
they will re-tube him. So far, he has done 56 mL and 42 mL both on the
breast!! No tube needed since he did a higher volume this morning. If he
does a bottle, "Human Enhancer" is added to the milk to give him extra
calories.
Getting ready to take his IV out and give him a bath (his first real one) this next feeding!
He is graduating to a big boy bed - no more NICU crib! He will need to
keep holding his temp to do that which he has been doing since 10 am.
Still needs to keep eating orally, gaining weight, and holding his temp
to leave, but he's doing so well.

Crosby needs to be eating ONLY on the bottle or breast every 3 hours - pray for no feeding tube and successful oral feeds.
Pray for Cros to hold his own temp.
Pray for him to keep moving in a forward direction.
Pray for the rest of us to be patient and have the energy to do what we need to.
Meanwhile back at home, Saturday soccer games & hanging out with Granny, Shennie, Mindy, Grama.
