September 14 - NICU Day 3

Text to Family:

Little Crosby nursed for about 15 minutes his morning! He is wearing a little onesie (size Newborn) and it looks so huge on him. At this point, I'm guessing he'll be in he NICU until at least the 19th. Thanks for the prayers. For all of us. We feel them and they are sustaining us.

This evening, Katie tended at home after we got the kids to bed and then Grama & Grampa came out to see Crosby. Grampa & Bryan gave Crosby a beautiful blessing of healing and strength. The thing that stuck out most to me was that he was blessed to be a calming influence on those around him.

It's weird to leave your baby at the hospital when you aren't there and then come back as a visitor instead of a patient. It's a hard juggling act. We are so thankful that Bryan has two weeks time off to tend to our other three kids at home while my main focus will be Crosby & the NICU. Our schedule most days goes like this:

1:00 am: Pump. Bryan usually stays up to visit with me and just be with me.

4:00 am: Pump again. Usually call the NICU to check on Crosby and how his night has gone.

7:00 am: Chandi heads to NICU to nurse/feed Crosby.

8:00 am: Bryan takes Andlie to school.

9:00 am: Bryan takes Haze to school.

10:00 am: Chandi stays at the hospital to get another feeding in with Crosby and get the daily report from the NICU doctor.

11:00 am: Chandi grabs lunch and comes home for a bit.

12:00 pm: Bryan picks Haze up from school.

2:00 pm: Bryan picks Andlie up from school.

2:00 - 5:00 pm: Homework & visit kids & lie down. Some days are soccer games or soccer practices.

6:00 pm: Bryan or Chandi makes dinner.

7:00 pm: Chandi goes back to the hospital to feed Crosby.
