November 19 - Family Pics

Took the girls to Target this afternoon to get some lipstick for family pics this evening.  I got some burgundy and I let Andlie pick out some light pink.  She was in heaven and totally felt like she went from 7 to 15 in one split lipstick buying second!

I've been busy organizing/purging our house.  It's been feeling so good!  Today I did the medicine cupboard!

After pics & dinner, we went to Riverwoods to see Santa since we didn't want to wait in the LONG line last night.  The kids were SO EXCITED to see him!  So was I!  Hazey asked for a track.  Nora asked for some make up and a doll.  Andlie asked for a giant Beanie Boo.  Welcome to Riverwoods, Santa!

And before bed, Andlie wanted one more picture of her looking like a teenager with her lipstick and messy bun.  She is growing in to such a beautiful young lady.

November 18 - Lighting of Riverwoods

I got to help in Haze's classroom this morning!  My makeup didn't make it to my face before we left (looooong night with Cros) and I was so tired and Bryan had to miss work for a couple hours, but I am SO GLAD I went because Haze was SO PROUD to have me there.  He kept looking at me and grinning and waving and he always wanted to be by me and he was very snuggly and smiley and it was such a happy experience for both of us.  I am so blessed.

Tonight we went to the Lighting of Riverwoods!  It's a favorite tradition in our house!  First we had to get all bundled up!

And then we headed to Riverwoods!  We had a great time enjoying some Christmas magic and starting the season off!  We even got some chocolates from Rocky Mountain Chocolates!

Tonight on the way home, Nora bit her tongue.

Nora: Bites her tongue. Starts crying.
Me: What happened?
Nora: I stabbed my tongue!!!!!!
Me: Are you okay?
Nora: Don't touch me right now.
Me: .....
Nora: Do you have anything to make me happy???
Me: What do you need?
Nora: I'm just so sad because my tongue hurts.

.....

Me: Nora how's your tongue feeling?

Nora: It's feeling better because I ate some cheese and that feels me better.

Me: Oh good.

Nora: Ya.  The big cheese.

 

Hazey LOVES his brother.  He doesn't care if he's happy or sad - he always loves him so much.  Tonight he wanted to hold him before we laid him down.

And then we laid him down and he put on a show for everyone.  Cooed and smiled and kicked his little legs and happily hung out in his bed. We're all so thankful to have him in our family.  He is so loved.

November 17 - First Snow

Woke up to our first snow of the season this morning!  Nora promptly wanted to get her boots and coat on and go check it out.  And then we came inside & watched a Christmas cartoon!  There's not very many things better than seeing your kid get so excited about something so simple.

Wonder what Cros is smiling at.....NORA!  She's a really sweet big sister to him and is always talking to him and watching over him and she gets SO PROUD when he smiles at her.

Andlie wrote a note for Haze this afternoon reminding him that he is "awesome how ever you are."  And then tonight at the mall, she BEGGED for a shirt that says, "First be cool YOU."  Pretty wise for a seven year old girl.  I'm proud to be her Mom and I hope she always remembers how AWESOME she is.

Nora got some new clothes from Sally (Hall) today!  She looks so cute in her winter sweater!  And when I asked to take her pic, she wanted to hold the scriptures in it.  I guess we're doing something right....

November 16 - Thanksgiving Feast

Crosby gives out smiles by the second when he's full & warm!

Hazey had a "Thanksgiving Feast" at school today!  He got to eat pizza from the cafeteria!  And he got to dress up like an Indian!  He had a fun day and really felt proud to have eaten food at school!

November 15 - Crosby

Crosby has to drink 2-3 bottles per day since he was a preemie.  These bottles have extra vitamins and minerals that will help him with brain grown.  I love watching his little profile and fists when he eats a bottle.

"Sleep is for the Weak" is what his shirt says.  There is no shirt that could be more true lately.  At least he's cute.

We tried out the play mat today!  We've tried it before, but today was the first day that Crosby seemed to enjoy himself!  He's growing so fast!

Cute Nora.  She's such a Mommy.  She asked me to help her put her baby in her "baby carrier" and then put it on her today.  And then she told me, "I'm just like you and Crosby!"

November 14 - Doctor & Super Moon

The big kids think Daddy is hilarious when he holds Crosby like a "cros-ball."  So he did it this morning at Haze's request before they left for school.

Wanted to document Cros' outie belly button.  It's a pretty good one!

Had to snap a picture of Andlie's emojis that she drew yesterday.  I think they're so cute!

Every morning when I put my makeup on, Nora asks if she can put some on too.  I usually say no, but today I said yes and gave her the bronzer and a brush.

We took Crosby to the doc this afternoon for his 2 month well check.  He had to get FOUR shots.  Poor boy.  He SCREAMED and cried when he got them, but he calmed down fairly quickly once I picked him up and snuggled his cheek to my cheek.  He weighs 10 lb, 14 oz! (That's 90% for his adjusted age - 1 month and 24% for his actual age of 2 months.) He is 22.5 inches long! (That's 90% for his adjusted age - 1 month and 22% for his actual age of 2 months.)

Me & Nora played with her "paper doll" toys tonight while everyone else went to get food.

Super Moon!  Tonight was the super moon!  It was supposed to be closer to us and brighter.  It definitely appeared bright, but it didn't seem as big as I wanted it to seem.  It was still fun to notice though!

November 13 - A Family Picture

We had to say good-bye to Grama, Bret, and Mindy today (Grampa had to leave last night for meetings).  We hate when we have to say good-bye to visitors.  So we take lots of pictures before they leave.

Nora kept calling Bret her "boyfriend" while he was here.  She just can't even contain herself around him.  Bats her eyes and everything.  

Late night update: Tonight, Bryan told Nora that he was "going to tell Bret that she was being naughty" because she wouldn't get her jammies on.  Well she fell CLEAR TO PIECES.  She screamed and cried and threw herself on the ground and slapped Bryan in the face!  Once she finally calmed down, I asked what was wrong and she said, "Daddy is gonna tell Bret that I'm naughty!"  Nora loves her some Bret.

But he doesn't really know how to hold babies very well and he laughs when they fart on him.....

After our visitors left, we watched some Sunday night football and hung out downstairs.

At bedtime, I put Nora's hair in a ponytail & said, "Wow, you look so pretty."  To which she replied, "I can't wait to show Bret."
