June 13 - NBA Finals

No better way to watch Game 5 of the NBA Finals than snuggled up next to Daddy while he tickles your naked back & tummy.  (You have conveniently taken off your shirt so Daddy can be sure & get a good tickle in.)  The good life.....

June 12 - Birthday Spotlight at Primary

I found Nora coloring on her muffin with a pink marker this morning.  I asked her why she was doing that and she said, "Because it's a princess muffin!"  Obviously.

Today was Haze's Birthday Spotlight in Primary!  He was so cute up there.  He had a grin from ear to ear.  Like the biggest grin I've ever seen.  She kept trying to suck it back in and bite his lips or cheeks and then it would just escape right back out.  It was so much fun to watch him so proud up there.  When we got home, I said, "Hazey you were smiling SO BIG up there!"  And he replied, "Because everyone was looking at me and singing to me!"  Cute boy.

I would also add to this spotlight that Haze says some VERY wonderful prayers.  He is often thanking Heavenly Father that Jesus died for us or for the Earth or for our family and he is always careful to remember our sweet baby in his prayers.  He has such a tender heart and he knows that he is talking to his Heavenly Father.

June 11 - Summerfest Day 2

We spent the morning riding carnival rides at the Summerfest this morning!  Each kid got five tickets.

Andlie: Fun House, Pirate Ships, Spinning Strawberries (with Dad - Favorite), Carousel
Haze: Trucks (Favorite), Flying Elephants, Pirate Ships, Tea Cups (with Dad), Carousel
Nora: Flying Elephants (Favorite), Pirate Ships, Carousel

After the rides, we headed over to the stage to watch some live kids karate that was happening.  Andlie went up to stage as a volunteer and broke a board in to four pieces with her karate stomp!  She now wants to add karate to the list of things she wants to try.  So far, that list includes: basketball, soccer, baseball, art camp, swimming lessons, gymnastics, dance, tennis, and piano lessons.  We've got a well-rounded girl on our hands!

After a fun morning, we came home to have baths (to get the carnival off of us) and then we ate lunch and I took the big kids shopping while Nora & Daddy had a nap.  While I was there, I found some children on sale!

We had lots of fun at the parade tonight!  Before it started, they had music playing and the kids went and danced in the road for a while!  They had a blast!  Since it had been raining on and off all day, it was PERFECT parade weather.  We had lots of fun and came home with pounds of candy and happy faces!

Andlie loved the karate class in the parade!
Haze loved any entry with candy.
Nora's favorite thing in the parade was (by far) the floats with princesses on them.  Every time one would come, Andlie would come and say, "Nora!  Here comes some princesses!" And then she'd escort her to the front of the line and they'd wave like crazy and get some waves back.

June 10 - Summerfest Day 1

Nora has been seeing Hazey-man cross off the days on his calendar.  Somehow, she managed to cross the days off of our old calendar without anyone knowing - with a PERMANENT MARKER.  (We saved this old calendar because it has old family photos on it and we like looking at them.)  Thankful she didn't cross of the wall.

After Daddy got home from work tonight, we went to the Summerfest!  We went to the park where they have a carnival, craft & food booths, and live entertainment.  We didn't go on rides tonight, but we did stop and visit the police for a while.  The kids even got to sit in the back of the police car like a few bad guys under arrest!

June 9 - Princess Underwears

Andlie has been attending Jane (Hall) and Lily's (Baker) Dance/Gymnastics Camp this week!  Jane & Lily are 10 and charged $10 for the week (one hour each day) for this camp.  Andlie has had a BLAST!  She's been especially having fun with her friend Katrina (Hilton).

Today was the recital/parents show!  Andlie did so good!  Probably the best one there!  They showcased cartwheels and somersaults and dance moves.  It was darling and I loved watching her shy, proud smile through the entire performance!

We went to WalMart after the recital and a few things accidentally happened:
"Princess underwears" jumped in our cart
Skittle prizes jumped in our cart
"Crispy unders" jumped in our cart

I guess we're trying a little bit of potty training today.  We came home and Nora immediately wanted to try her "underwears" on.  She even sat on the potty a couple times.  And then peed on the carpet.  Underwears came off and diaper went back on.  I think Nora is pretty much ready.  It's me that's not.  I can't fully commit to potty training right now.  I'm a wuss.  Soon though.

She sure looked cute in her tiny underwear.  And she was SO PROUD of them.  Carted them around in a pile all day long and kept laying them out and looking at them.

Trying to organize everything I've saved of the kids' stuff from ultrasounds until present time.  There's A LOT of stuff.  And I kinda wanna save it all.  I found a lot of treasures, but one stuck out to me: a card given to Andlie at birth from Grandma Paul.

"You have come to very special and good parents.  Enjoy your life!  Learn all the treasures of truth you can by being the best you can as a member of the Kingdom of God on the Earth."

Pretty wise words.

June 8 - Mom Life

You know you're a Mom when.....

Your breakfast is served (by yourself) at 11:30 am
Your toast is on an Easter Bunny plate
Your cottage cheese is in a princess bowl
Your banana is cut in half

Best job in the world!

The workers are finally making progress on our park!  (Remember it was completely demolished by in March.)  We were THRILLED to see our new toys making their debut this afternoon!

Got ready today.  Considering it an accomplishment since it hasn't happened in three days.  Also loving my belly.  22 weeks tomorrow.  Little boy is a wiggly little thing and loves Diet Dr. Pepper and Hershey's Kisses.

Nora.  She keeps us on our toes.  This afternoon, Haze's birthday presents arrived so I locked myself in my room with Bryan to open them and look at them.  When we came out, Nora came up to me & calmly said, "You went in your room with Daddy and I eat chocolate!"  And then I found about 6 Hershey's Kisses wrappers strewn around.

Tonight I went to get the mail with her.  She rode her bike.  And much to my surprise, when we got back to our driveway she pulled her electric toothbrush out of her bike seat and started brushing her teeth.  When we told Daddy about this, he asked, "Why did you put your toothbrush in your bike?"  She replied, "Because I want to."

She's one of a beautiful kind.

June 7 - Elephant in the Room & Headbands

There was an elephant in our house this morning.  I was able to snatch a picture before it turned it's nose in to it's pants.

Because five headbands is way better than one.
