January 26 - Star of the Week

Cute Hazey asked to do some chores for a few days so he could earn some money to buy a car at Target.  On Saturday, he helped me unpack some groceries.  And today he helped me put the laundry in the washer and dryer.  And then he "cleaned" the windows (with water & paper towels).  I told him he'd earned $1 today so we went to get him a car!  I gave him his own one dollar bill and we searched and searched and found the perfect car - Z Rod!  He was so proud to give the cashier his dollar all by himself!

Hazey was also star of the week this week at preschool!  This means that he gets to wear a crown and bring a favorite toy to show the class and a favorite treat to share!  He came out wearing his crown today & told me, "I get to pretend that it's kind of close to my birthday and be in charge at preschool!"

Andlie ate a green candy cane and then demanded, "Take a picture of my mouth, Mom!"

We finished our puzzle tonight!  We put in about an hour and half tonight and I'm so proud that we finished!

January 25 - Monster Jam & Backpack

Hazer lined up his trucks and played Monster Jam for a long time this morning!

And Nora just looked so cute with her big girl hair do.  And her big girl smile.  Sheesh, what is happening?!  She is getting so big!

Since Haze was carrying his backpack full of monster trucks around this morning, Nora wanted to carry hers around full of princesses.  But only on her arms.  She kept bringing it to me & saying, "Put it on ma arms, Mommy.  Needa hold it on ma arms."

Bryan & I started on a 500 piece puzzle tonight!  After only one hour, we'd made some pretty good progress!

January 24 - First Chapter Book

Nora demanded that she wear this particular dress (her "Elsa" dress) and these shoes and this headband.  And by demanded, I mean she wouldn't stop screaming and crying at me until I understood and obliged.

Had to snap a pic with Grama & Grampa & Beau before the left this afternoon.  We had a great weekend with them!

Today Andlie finished her very first chapter book!  She read every word - start to finish.  She's been caught reading in bed and on the couch several times in the last couple weeks.  She even read several pages to Grampa this weekend.  It's called, "Dinosaurs Before Dark," and is in the series, "The Magic Treehouse."  She really enjoyed it and was so proud of herself for finishing all 68 pages!

We tried to take a picture of her jumping in the air from all the excitement, but we had a hard time timing it correctly.

Tubby time!  The girls had a bath tonight and it was one of the cutest things I've seen in a long time.  Nora adores her big sister.  She wants to be just like her.  And Andlie loves being the big, protective, teaching sister.

January 23 - Monster Jam

This morning, Grampa Puppy, Daddy, and Andlie went shopping at the gun store and the bike store.  While shopping, Bryan heard, "Hey, Dad.  Look at me."  And then he turned around & saw Andlie standing in some new clothes.  Giggling her butt off.

And then we all came home and had lunch and relaxed a bit and then it was time for MONSTER JAM!!!!  Andlie got her Monster Jam shirt on, put some Grave Digger (neon green) earrings in, and requested a Mohawk braid!

Hazey put on his Monster Jam shirt and wore his Grave Digger (green) "Brave Bracelet!"  He also made sure to bring a couple monster trucks to the show so they could watch.

They had a great night together watching monster trucks do jumps & tricks!  Thanks for the tickets, Grampa Puppy!

January 22 - Visitors

SUU stud football player today!

I told him to "make a football player face."

"Mi (sometimes she shortens my name from Mommy to Mi), look at my pitty dress.  And my Cinderella shoes.  Take a pick-cha."  You got it, baby girl!

Guess who came to our house this afternoon?!  Mandy and Daisey and Liam and Grama!  Mandy is on her way to Cedar City, but Tim couldn't come so Grama drove up so she could finish the drive with Mandy.  That means visitors for us!  Yay!!!!!  They only stayed for a few hours, but we'll take it!

And as soon as Mandy & Grama left, Grama & Grampa Puppy and Beau arrived!  We went with them to eat dinner at Red Robin tonight!  We're happy to have them here for the weekend!

January 21 - Hat, 100, & Music

I think Andlie still likes her hat she got from Shennie last Summer.

Hazey celebrated the 100th day of school today at preschool!  They made 100 hats, had balloons, and had cupcakes for the snack!  He thought it was pretty cool!  Except he still hates that Devin threw up next to him at preschool in October during snack time, so he's not a fan of eating while he's at school.  He finished his cupcake in the car while we were waiting to pick up Andlie & Isaac from school.  I think he's a pretty great colorer!  Stays in the lines and uses great colors to finish his projects!

Tonight while I was cooking dinner, I turned Pandora on.  I put it on the speaker.  I turned to the "Preschool of Rock" station for the kids.  (Music really does something to our kids - it makes them happier and more calm.)  When "Let it Go" came on (her favorite song of all time), Nora raced in to the kitchen in her "Punzel" dress and with her "two pony tails" and just stared up at the speaker and smiled.  Didn't move for a whole minute or two.  Just watched her song play on the speaker.  I had to snap a picture.  It sure is a joy to have her in our home.  It reminds me to enjoy the little things and find joy in simple beauties.

January 20 - Broken Glasses

Cute kids.  I love these pants & shoes of Hazey's.  And his blonde hair and blue eyes.  And I love that Nora has to be in a princess dress every day.  (This one is her "Punzel" one.)

Today  I got a call from the school around noon.  I wasn't expecting a call from them, so I knew it was going to be Andlie.  I answered & heard her voice.  "Hi, Mom."  "Hey, Andlie!  What are you doing?"  (With a shaky voice) "I broke my glasses."  Wimpers.  "It's okay.  I'll bring you some new ones.  What happened?"  "Capri hit me in the face."  "What?!  Okay I'll be over in a minute.  It's okay.  No big deal."

I got to the school and found her eating lunch in the lunchroom glasses-less.  I found out that her & Capri were wildly skipping in to class when Capri's arm came up and smacked her glasses hard enough to break the ear piece clean off (not even at the hinge) and break part of the frame so the lens fell out.  Whew!  Hard hit.  She said she was okay and that the only thing that got hurt was her eye socket bone, but it was feeling okay now.  I looked Capri in the eyes and told her to stop being so rough with Andlie and to never ever ever touch her glasses or her face.  Momma Bear came out a little.  I'm glad she didn't come out a lot.  Andlie loves Capri and they have lots of wild fun together.

I texted the family about the incident and got several texts that went something like, "What the?!?!  Here I come to kick some butt and protect Andlie and she's the best and I never want her hurt or sad ever!!!!"  It was cute to see so much protection, support, and love from family.  Andlie wrote about the events of the day for her writing homework tonight.

Bath baby!  All fresh and clean and owning her pink elephant towel.
